Obituary of Patricia Holmes Eells

Patricia H. Eells, known to her friends as Pat, passed away on October 21, 2023, at the age of 96 in New York City. She was born in New Jersey and spent her childhood in Daytona, Florida before moving to Manhattan as a young woman, where she lived for the rest of her life.

Pat cherished her adventurous lifestyle and valued the experiences and loyal friends she gained during her lifetime. She was an independent woman ahead of her time, a businesswoman and a mentor who never shied away from a good political discussion, all with a wonderful sense of humor. Pat adored New York City, especially the Upper West Side where she made her home for over 50 years. She embraced all that the city had to offer, visiting the many museums, art galleries, theaters, and music venues. Pat’s adventurous spirit led her to sail her own sloop and travel the world. She lived her life with integrity, passion, and effortless elegance. She touched many lives and greatly valued the loyalty she shared with her dear friends.

Pat is survived by her cousin Cathy Hagerty, godchildren David and Claudia Lewis, as well as her many lifelong devoted friends.
