Anne E. (Schneider) Keenan, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 25th in West Chester, PA. Anne was born in Philadelphia, PA and was raised in Short Hills, NJ. She attended Millburn High School and Douglass College (Rutgers University) then married her high school sweetheart John (Jack). They were married for 55 years. Jack died in 2007. Together they raised their 8 children (Kevin, Pat, Liz, Gen, Kate, Kerry, Meg and Chip) and welcomed 20 grandchildren. Anne lived in Short Hills, Bay Head, and Tinton Falls, NJ before moving to West Chester, PA three years ago.
Throughout her adult life Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed time at the beach and traveling. She was very active with her family and in her church and school communities as a volunteer and committee person. For many years she volunteered at St. Rose of Lima Church and School in Short Hills and Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Bay Head. She was a 35-year Red Cross Blood Drive Volunteer. She was also active in The Woman’s Club of Brielle, St. Gregory’s Pantry, Pt. Pleasant Beach, and the Algonquin Arts Theatre, Manasquan.
Anne is survived by her sister Jean and brother-in-law Bill, her 8 adult children, their spouses, 20 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was cherished by many and will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral mass will be celebrated for the family on December 11, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima, Short Hills at 11:15 am. A private interment will follow.
