It's not often that I am at a loss for words yet, I find myself struggling to capture all that Sally meant to me. The stars aligned the day that Sally walked into my office. I spoke to Fred, her prior employer, and he simply said "She's the Babe Ruth of hygienists". He was right. She was that and so much more. Sally was a dear friend, an amazing colleague, a sounding board, role model, etc., too many descriptors to list. We were so fortunate to laugh all day together. Her countless witty replies will forever echo, “I don’t need a PalmPilot Kevin, I have a brain!” We traversed the country to take classes together, hiking in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state and walking the beaches in Key Biscayne, Fl while at the Pankey Institute, added adventures to our learning. What an amazing ride it was Sally. Thank you for putting me on the map. Love You.

Sally and I always seemed to share a discussion of how much dental practice had changed through the years and how she still enjoyed meeting patients and knowing them. We could always connect on what our next travel plans were and relate to having grandchildren close by. She will always be remembered as a charming colleague.

Nothing creates a bond like living with someone for a period of time. Such was a week-long trip Sally and I took to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in 2014 and then again in 2015. Sally's desire to learn about a culture and work among the Lakota showed her curiosity, open-mindedness, and ability to work hard serving others. Our neighborhood friendship evolved into a shared experience we never tired of talking about. I will miss her deeply.

Our beautiful friend Sally is now a lovely angel above. We have been blessed to call Sally and Rob friends and neighbors for over seventeen years, a friendship that began on our move-in day. We arrived as empty nesters and new to the northeast, yet once in their circle of family and friends, we were never alone and enjoyed so many special times together including dinners, trips into the city, movie night at Roberts Cinema and so many more. We once thought that career brought us to NJ, but later realized that we were simply meant to meet Sally and Rob. We miss our dear friend, her wisdom, wit, laughter and caring enriched our lives and we will forever cherish the times we spent together. Sally was all about family and we send our love and condolences to Rob, Kristi, Robin, Geoff and their families. - Lupita and Adolfo Reyes

Sally-a vibrant positive, happy, helpful and loving sister and sister-in-law, these adjectives uniquely define and describe my sister. We will miss her Sunday phone calls to see how everything is going and how our kids were. Sally never missed calling or sending a card for birthdays, anniversaries. or holidays. Our father always called Sally "Duchess.' I never really knew why. Today I looked up the meaning of the word, "a Duchess supports their spouse and family in many ways: appearances, hosting events, charity work, looking out for family, running the household and caring and loving her family." Our father was correct. Sally was truly an amazing Duchess-who we will truly miss. Love you, Duchess!

Sally was my second mother. I lived across the street from her for five years by myself, but was never truly alone. She always thought of me when there were extra portions of dinner and made sure I was included for family holidays like Thanksgiving when my own family was thousands of miles away. I would often come home to find a to-go container full of food with some of her homemade chocolate chip cookies on top sitting on the door stoop with a note saying "hope you're hungry". When thinking of the people who helped me get through the rigorous journey that is medical school, Sally is among the most important. I'll never forget her calls from the front window across the street, inviting me to just chit chat for a few minutes, nor her text messages at all times of day reminding me that I left the light on or the garage door open. She even got to know my fiancé Chris for a brief time and we both will miss her so much, but feel so fortunate to have known her. We will always use her memories as a guiding light.

My wonderful friend of 60 years. I know I’m not the first to say, I won the lottery when you were my assigned roommate for our years as hygiene students. I couldn’t have muddled through Vietnam Nam and exams without you. My Maid of Honor, my always generous, always honest and kind, fun loving, friend. NJ to Ga to MA, NY and back home to NJ, it didn’t matter, you were always there for me. Confident that you and Rob were perfect together it was no surprise that Kristi, Robin and Geoff are such beautiful caring adults with wonderful families. Dale and I have loved being included in your circle. How blessed we are to have known you well. My buddy. It was too soon Sal.

Sally: A devoted wife, mother and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. However she will rest in peace knowing she leaves behind a loving husband and a beautiful family legacy of children and grandchildren who loved her without reservation.

Sally Sorbello was a brilliant connoisseur of laughter, perhaps our greatest joy in being human. Personally, no matter what my frequent dreary take on the world, Sally would be there to snap me out of it, to make my worldview much less serious and troubled through her constantly optimistic take and her always cheerful presence. Thank you for that, especially, Dear Friend. Tom Baranski
