Dear Maryellen and family, pretty much shocked today to learn of Brian‘s untimely passing. We staffed Judge Ronco’s court together 1979–1980 as adversaries. Became friends. Very very tough, fair advocate on behalf of law-enforcement for the people of New Jersey. Deeply respected by his friends.Trial skills were second to none. Always talked about his kids and family as #1. Huge loyalty to the ECPO. My sympathy on the loss of this warm, gracious, talented, funny guy.

Michael Petrolle I offer my sympathy to the family of Brian, Sr. - a wonderful person whom I’ve known more than half a century ever since our early acquaintance on No. 31 bus trips between Terrell Avenue and Newark, from his retrieval of balls my family’s Irish Setter stole at games on Marshall School playground, to our professional interaction as lawyers and our joining in the practice of law together as partners as well as his appearances much later as an assistant prosecutor. He was not only a gifted and wise lawyer who proved his talent and brilliance time and again in the trial courts, but also, and more importantly, a man with a keen sense of honor and a grand sense of humor whose loyal friendship I cherish in life and in memory.

He loved his time in the prosecutors office. A servant leader if there ever was one. Making the world safer for us. He loved his sports teams and suffered with them so. What a life. Always a smile.
