Sandie was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Good manners were a part of his nature, not something he learned He became a dear and close friend to my husband Julies. They both worked together and shared common interest. After I met Sandie it was easy to understand the connection. Sandie was not only pleasant company he had a keen intellect and and was very insightful. We often enjoyed his company especially when went to the Bronx to enjoy a meal with Freddie ( also a co worker) and his wife Norma. There was never a shortage of good conversation on various topic, sometimes full of information at other times just funny and relaxed.
When my husband was terminally ill Sandie never failed to visit, He was a rock and helped me through some of the most difficult moments I have faced. He embodied the the true meaning of kindness and friendship. My gratitude to him is beyond words. I think the world would be a better place if there were more persons with the values, ideals, and just natural goodness that I found in Sandie. He will be missed but I doubt he will be forgotten.
