Obituary of Mary Stefano

Mary Stefano Proud aunt bonded with her nephews over Mets games, 91 Mary Stefano, 91, passed away on Nov. 4, 2017, at Brookdale Nursing Home in West Orange, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, N.J., on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is private. Mary was born and lived almost all her life in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was proud of working for more than 30 years as the executive secretary for the chairman of the board at Pfizer Inc. in New York City. Mary was very close to her nephews, who she helped raise, and she loved the bond she shared with them as avid Mets fans. The boys fondly remember going to many Mets games with her and sitting behind the dugout to root for their favorite team. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Benjamin Stefano; her sister, Julianne Hsu, and her grand-nephew, Stephen L. Hsu. She is survived by her nephews, Douglas A. and his wife, Pilar, and Stephen J. Hsu; and her grand-nephew, German Hsu.
