Obituary of Catherine E. Harkins

Catherine E. Harkins, age 78, passed away on Thursday, June 13^th at Winchester Gardens in Maplewood.

A Memorial Mass will be held on at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St, Maplewood, on June 25, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Interment is private

Catherine was born in Somerville, MA. and lived in Randolph, MA and Belford, NJ before moving to Maplewood in 2022. She was an educator, wife, mother, and grandmother, supportive and loving in all her roles. She joins her husband, Derek May, in peaceful repose.

Catherine will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa May and her husband Patrick McDonough.  She is also survived by her son, Jon May and his wife Carla.  She has a sister, Margaret Mary Soltis, and brother, Daniel Harkins.  She also has her 4 grandchildren, Oliver and Charlie McDonough, Julian and Albert May.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey would be appreciated.
