Obituary of Brian Andre Devers

Brian Andre Devers passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2024 at the age of 80.

Visitation will be held at the Jacob Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Milburn Avenue, Maplewood NJ on Thursday October 3, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday October 4, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Grace Church, 950 Broad Street, Newark, NJ (and by live video at  http://Facebook.com/gracechurchinnewark followed by a memorial repast. Private cremation will follow. 

Andre was born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana by his parents Reginald and Agnes Devers. For the past 42 years he called New Jersey home. He started his own business Big City Mechanic which he operated up until the late 90s when he was forced to retire due to medical reasons.

More than anything, Andre enjoyed spending time with family and loved ones. He was a loving son, father, grandfather great grandfather and brother.

Among his favorite pastime was travelling, watching tennis and keeping up with the current politics. He was always up for a challenge and making new friends. His goal was to put a smile on everyone’s faces.

He will especially be missed by his 6 children Sean, Nicola (David), Susan (Marlon), Dwayne, Dominic and Dremayne. His 7 grandchildren Ricardo (Annmarie), he said Jessica, Kurt, Jayden, Justin, Aubrey and Hudson and his great granddaughter Seandra. He was the eldest of 10 siblings and is survived by Marilyn (Martin), Lorraine (Phil, deceased), Roger (Kathleen), Mary, Clive (Jacqueline), Lucia (Paul), Terrence (Cathleen), Michele (Gerry) and Jim (Sharon). He was like a brother to Barbara. He was uncle to many nieces and nephews.
