Obituary of Margaret A. Grossman

Margaret (Margie) Ann Grossman, 83, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with ALS. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, sense of humor, and the love she gave to her family and friends. 

Margie was born and raised in the Bronx where she attended P.S.103 and graduated from Evander Childs High School in 1959. After getting married in 1970, she lived most of her life in Lakewood, NJ, where her grandmother originally settled in the early 1900’s. She graduated with an associates degree from Ocean County College and worked at Monmouth University, among other places, before retiring. Throughout her life, she practiced and studied yoga, meditation and Eastern philosophy.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Grossman; her son Mark Grossman and daughter Suzanne Grossman; her two beloved grandchildren Elijah Grossman and Jay Reeder; her daughter-in-law Ros Grossman and son-in-law Rob Reeder; and her lifelong friends Madelyn Brewer and Betty Chrysanthou. She is predeceased by her two brothers Andrew and Daniel Werlick.

A memorial and celebration of Margie’s life will take place at Winchester Gardens in the Great Hall, Maplewood, NJ, on Saturday, January 4 at 2pm. Interment will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lakewood, NJ beside her parents Andrew and Susan Werlick.
