Obituary of Carolyn H. Murray

Carolyn H. Murray, 87, of East Orange, N.J., passed away on July 19, 2018, at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, N.J., on Friday, July 27, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair. Visiting hours are on Friday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Carolyn was born in Boston, Mass., and lived in East Orange for the past 55 years. She received her B.A. in education from Boston Teachers College, now part of the University of Massachusetts. She was a member of AKA Sorority while attending college. Carolyn was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years at various schools within the Newark School System. She was the wife of the late Lafayette Murray and is survived by her children, Paul (Ina), Neal, and Lora Murray; grandchildren, Omari, Noah, and Nia, and many other close relatives and friends.
