Robert B. "Bob" Lynch, formerly of Whitehouse Station, N.J., and Short Hills, N.J., passed on to eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at age 92. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Friday, Feb. 23, at 11:15 a.m. Arrangements are by The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home of Maplewood, N.J. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Bob served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed at Exxon for 36 years, working in engineering and consulting capacities in the U.S. and overseas. Bob was an avid traveler, reader, tennis player, and jogger. He was a devout Catholic who loved sharing his faith. He served as a Eucharistic minister and lector and taught religious education at parishes in Elizabeth, Short Hills, and Hunterdon County. Bob was predeceased by beloved wife, Mary A. Healy Lynch; sons Paul and David; brothers James, Francis, and Joseph, and by grandchildren, Emily Robl and Sean Matera. He is survived by his sons, Robert J. Lynch (wife Cindy) and Christopher P. Lynch (wife Judy Wagner); daughters, Maureen Robl (husband James), Patrice Lynch (husband Brian Wait), Ellen Lynch, and Mary Lynch Matera (husband Richard); brother Vincent (wife Joan), 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
