Nolan --- On Saturday, November 5, 2005 Cornelius (Neal) P. Nolan of South Orange. Beloved Brother of William T. Nolan of Tustin. CA. Dear cousin of Kathy Cosgrove of South Orange. Loving uncle of Mary Helen Bennett, Timothy and Brian Nolan of Calif. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St. South Orange on Thur, Nov 10th at 9:30 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange. Visition will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Wed 3-5 & 7-9 PM. Senior year selected All-County and All-State by the Newark Evening News and the Newark Star Ledger Inducted into the Hall of fame at Seton Hall Prep in 1988 Attended Duke for one and a half years before being signed by The Cleveland Indians organization during his sophmore year 1949. Nolan then spent the following 2 years with the New York Giants organization playing fot the Middle Atlantic League Erie Saliors. A three year stint in the army followed were he was a physical training instructor. He then worked for Maplewood Recreation Dept were he served at supervisor of all sports programs for three years. Publisher Walter Worral hired Nolan for Worrall Publications: News-Record of Maplewood & South Orange, West Orange Chronicle, The East Orange Record and The Orange Transcript and after working part-time Nolan took over the sports editor positon. Nolan wrothe a column every week which appeared in the four papers he worked for. He later brought a camera and learned in a course at Millburn High School how to take and develop pictures for publication. He did this for five years from 1969-1974 Then he worked at Redmond Press in Denville as a cameraman learning the production end of the business. Nolan was with Redmond for four years before going to work for Horan & Graving Co., NYC were he worked in the Graphic’s dept from 1978-1993
