Scherma --- On Friday, April 28, 2006, Ronald of Short Hills, beloved husband of Dorie Schroer Scherma. Devoted father of Alexander and Stacey Scherma. Loving grandfather of Joseph, Patrick, and Delia Conroy. Dear Brother of Robert Scherma and the late Theodore and Michael Scherma. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from THE JACOB A. HOLLE FUNERAL HOME, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, on Saturday, May 6th, at 10:30AM thence to St. Stephen’s Cemetery Mausoleum, 451 Millburn Ave., Millburn where a Funeral Service will be offered at 11:30AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RONALD SCHERMA MEMORIAL FUND: C/O Sageday, 215 Hill Street, Boonton, N.J. 07005; Attn: Rita Farino. A service for Ronald Scherma, 67, of Short Hills will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephens Cemetery Mausoleum, 451 Millburn Ave., Millburn. Arrangements are by the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood. Mr. Scherma, who died Friday while on vacation at the St. James Club of Antigua, was chief operating officer of Popkin Software & Systems in New York City, where he worked for almost 20 years. He took part in designing communication systems for the Navy and dispatch systems for the New York City Fire Department as well as other projects. Mr. Scherma earned a bachelors degree at the City College of New York in 1960 and a masters degree in electronic engineering from the Brooklyn Polytechnic College in 1963. Born in New York City, he lived in Short Hills for many years. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Dorie; a son, Alexander; a daughter, Stacey; a brother, Robert, and three grandchildren.
