My dear Dr. Nelson,
I will miss you dearly. My colleague, my friend. I remember the day I interviewed with you. It was the most down-to-earth interview. You were so hilarious. I miss TuF with you in the office.
Love and rest in peace.

To the family of my dear friend and mentor:
Please know that Liz will be forever in my heart. She was such a giving person and had such a down to earth attitude about what we do here in the English Department. She was also caring and sympathetic and kind -- and was possessed of a wicked sense of humor. A great lady -- and a beautiful soul. I will miss her forever.
Rest in peace, Liz, and say hello to Jonathan Swift for us!
Love, Connie

To the Nelson family, my prayers and deepest sympathy. Liz was one of the people who interviewed me when I was hired by SPC over twenty years ago and, during those twenty years, she was a valued mentor and became a good friend also. She will be missed.

Dr. Nelson,
I think aside from all of the detective stories and other fine pieces of literature I've read because of your classes, I will miss our conversations about the NY Mets the most. Maybe your guidence and sense of humor will provide some heavenly inspiration to them on the field. I feel for the future English majors at SPC who will not have the opportunity to sit in on your class or enjoy your friendship

What a lovely character was Liz Nelson. She was one of the first people I met at St. Peter's College, as I substitute taught her class during my hiring process; her humor put me at ease. I know she's reading heavenly novels now and joking around with Alexander Pope in a sublime coffee house.

I worked as secretary with Dr. Nelson in the English Dept. @ SPC in the 90's. She was an exhuberant, loving and joyful lady. She was an inspiration to me. Not being able to pay my respects in person is heart-wrenching, but I leave with the family my deepest sympathy. Love you, Dr. Nelson. May God keep you safe. Love, Maureen
P.S. I fondly remember her knitting "Thomas the Train" sweater for her first grandchild!
