Edwin W. Rustum, Beloved Husband and Father Edwin Wadie Rustum, 84, of Springfield, died Wednesday, December 13th. Mr. Rustum was born and raised in East Orange. As a young man he was a band singer and subsequently served from 1942 to 1945 in the Army Air Corps as a vocalist in the Special Services Entertainment Unit. He worked in the family business, Wadie Rustum & Sons of South Orange, purveyors of fine Oriental rugs. After that he was employed by Honeywell Information Systems for over 30 years in a sales managerial capacity. He resided in Maplewood for 40 years. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen (Hoey) and children John, William and Kathleen. He leaves his loving daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Paige Rustum, and cherished grandchildren Juliana, Eliza, Luke, Lucinda and Annabelle Rustum. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral from Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Sat, Dec 16th at 9:30 AM thence to Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, South Orange where a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington. Visiting Hours Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
