It's been almost 12 years and I still think of Simon frequently. Simon was a dear friend of mine at CSM. He was my roommate for a year, my brother, and a mentor.
The last time I saw him was on a sunny, warm afternoon in New York City in the fall of 2016. I think it was either at Washington Square Park or Union Square Park.
He said to me, "Tota, I'm going to be a father!" I can still remember the excitement on his face and in his smile during that conversation. I lived in Denver at the time and had only been visiting NYC for a few days, so that was the last time I saw him in person. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
Lots of love to Simon's family and to all who were enriched by his grace, the quiet strength that was manifest within him.
I miss you brother!
