Richard D. Fritz, 74, of South Orange died on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at St. Josephs Hospital Hospice Unit, Wayne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Rosedale Crematory. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Irvington, Mr. Fritz lived in Millburn before moving to South Orange 42 years ago. A master carpenter and mason, he was the sole proprietor of R. Fritz Construction, South Orange, from 1961 to present. Mr. Fritz was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Short Hills.
He was the beloved husband of Prudence Kelly Fritz; devoted father of Robin Mitchell and her husband, James, and Rachel Offenburger and her husband, Frederick; loving grandfather of Joseph, Richie, Nicole, James, Briella, Frederick, Emma and Victoria, and also survived by six sisters.
