Mrs. Rose Torquato Pilla, 85, of Vailsburg died on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 481 Sanford Ave., Vailsburg, Newark, on Monday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net.
Born in Maybrook, N.Y., Mrs. Pilla lived in Vailsburg for 39 years. A homemaker, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Vailsburg and its Rosary Society. She was the recording secretary of St. Josephs Rosary Society in Newark.
Mrs. Pilla was the beloved wife of the late Anthony T. Pilla, the devoted mother of Anthony T. Pilla Jr. and his wife, Marie, and the late Lucille Neacosia and her husband, Steven, the loving grandmother of Anthony T. III and Allison Pilla, and the dear sister of Mildred Cleffi.
