Mrs. Rosemary Ryan Hitchins, 91, of New Providence died on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in Glenside Nursing Home, New Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation is at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. only. Born in Newark, Mrs. Hitchins lived in Summit for 32 years and Millburn for many years before moving to New Providence three years ago. She was a clerk at Ciba Geigy Pharmaceutical from 1980 to 1987 when she retired. During the 1950s and 1960s, she was a sales associated at B. Altman Co. in Short Hills and Lord & Taylor in Millburn. Mrs. Hitchins was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills and the Christ Child Society of Summit.
She was the beloved mother of Charles R. Hitchins of Chicago, Ill., and John G. Hitchins of Roanoke, Va., and also survived by seven grandchildren.
