Obituary of Helen M. Maier

Helen Maier passed away at home on Wednesday, March 26, at the age of 95. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Church, 332 Madison Hill Rd., Clark, on Saturday, March 29, at 9:45 a.m. Interment is private. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in Newark, Mrs. Maier lived in Irvington before moving to South Orange 25 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Church, Clark. Mrs. Maier led an active life until a few years ago, concentrating on her grandchildren and family and eagerly awaiting her first great-grandchild. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Snow; son-in-law, Robert Snow; granddaughters, Jennifer Butler and Stephanie Snow, and grandson-in-law, R. Stockton Butler. Mrs. Maiers husband, John, passed away in 1982. She was the last surviving child of John and Ann Szipszky, who had eight children.
