Obituary of Neal M. Draper

Neal M. Draper, 94, of Basking Ridge, formerly of Short Hills, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Funeral services are private. The family will be receiving friends at the Jacob A. Born in St. Louis, Mo., Mr. Draper resided in Short Hills for 43 years before moving to Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge 12 years ago. He was the president of Draper Chemical Associates Inc. in Short Hills before retiring. He also was the vice president of the National Aniline Division of Allied Chemical, Morristown, where he worked for 45 years. He received a B.S. in 1933 from Washington University, St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Draper was president of the Textile Dye Institute in 1965-1966. He was a lifelong member of Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, and also was a member of Jonathans Landing Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla., and the N.J. Seniors Golf Association.
Mr. Draper was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Tille Draper; the devoted father of Mimi Walsh and her husband, Frank, Bonnie Gobble, Debbie Hill and her husband, Fred, Cricket Barkhorn and her husband, Bruce, and the late Peggy Calvin; the dear brother of Edgar Draper, M.D.; and the loving grandfather of Bruce Calvin, Missy Callanan, Ted Walsh, Meghan Cioffi, Eric Gobble, Abbie DiMatteo, Sarah Elliott, Eliza and Charlie Hill, and Brian, Michael, and John Barkhorn. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
