Mrs. Helen G. McManus Cahill, 90, of Maplewood died on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Josephs Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Born in Hoboken, Mrs. Cahill lived in North Bergen and Cliffside Park before moving to Maplewood 11 years ago. She worked as a business office supervisor at the New York Telephone Co. for many years and later moved into a position as the FCC liaison for the presidents office. She was a 1964 graduate of Fordham University with a B.A. in business. She was a member of St. Josephs Rosary Society and the church choir and the Rainbow Seniors. She was also a member of the Maplewood Seniors and the Catholic Daughters of America, and was a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre for the Newark Archdiocese. She was a long-standing member and a Eucharistic minister at St. John the Baptist Church in Fairview. Mrs. Cahill was the beloved wife of the late Thomas D. Cahill Jr.; devoted mother of Lawrence Doyle of Maine, Thomas D. Cahill III of White Plains, N.Y., and Eleanor Cahill of Maplewood; loving grandmother of Noreen and Lawrence Doyle; dear great-grandmother of Maura Doyle.
