I grew up only a few blocks from Rich and we played baseball together as kids and through high school-- I have a lots of fond memories of him. My prayers go out to him and his family. I still recall his dad and mine sitting on the sidelines during countless baseball games. He will be missed.

We so loved Richie Maser! "World Of...." God Rest His Soul...
Irish Blessing:
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No on will ever know
But know we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you’ll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay

Rich`s passing makes me very sad. I remember him both in the classroom and on the field. I always had a great amount of respect for how hard Rich worked and how he competed.
Rich certainly helped make our Football Team at CHS very respected during the years he played.I feel fortunate to have been able to coach Rich at Columbia.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Coach Porcelli

Rich...you are missed...I hope you find the peace you were searching for.
Breathe, breathe in the air
Dont be afraid to care
Leave but dont leave me
Look around and chose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears youll cry And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be..
