I just found out that Barbara died in June. Unfortunately I could not have attended the funeral as I was teaching in Oslo. My condolences to all of Barbara's family, here and in Norway. She loved you deeply. She had a zest for life, loved to be active (her Norwegian genes I am sure) and with a twinkle in her eye, was always honest and direct with her opinions. We shared many a good story when I came to the office. It's not many people who can say that the super dental duo - Victor and Barbara - also treated their mother. It was great to come for appointments and catch-up on all the news in town, and know that my teeth were in good hands! We also shared "Norway." While I don't have any known Norwegian background (the Scottish in me rates at least 1 Viking gene), after hiking and skiing there and eventually writing articles about the country and being a Sons of Norway fellow member, we always had a lot to talk about. Even one of my editors, who grew up in Flekkefjord, where she had lived in southern Norway, had known her family very well. Small world indeed. She was a totally competent woman and brought sunshine into many people's lives.

The Flynn family - John Sr, Marjorie, Katherine, Lauren and John Jr. all wish to express their sincerest sympathies to the sons and extended family of Barbara Shoner.
We had been patients of Dr. Auth's for a very long time and Barbara always greeted us with a big smile and hello, made us feel like family, was always interested in our family events and was certainly an efficient and knowledgeable dental assistant.
She brightened our lives and we will miss her. May beautiful memories and happy times shared in your family life together help to sustain you during this sad time.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Marge Flynn

Barbera, I will always remember your smile, your encouragement, and your gentle manner. You always asked about my children and husband when I had my appointments with Dr. Auth., which I appreciated. You were current in your profession and I miss you. Thank you for calling me to remind me of my appointments that I would otherwise (and did) forget, until you offered to call me the day before (brilliant). My condolences to your family. You were a wonderful professional and I'm certain that you were as kind and cheerful as a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am grateful to have known you.
