Mary Louise Clarken of Summit, N.J., formerly of South Orange, N.J., died on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at the Center for Hope in Scotch Plains, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Teresa Of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave., Summit, N.J., on Monday, Aug. 15, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, N.J., on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com Born in Newark, N.J., Miss Clarken resided in South Orange before moving to Summit 25 years ago. She was the acquisition librarian at Seton Hall University in South Orange for 40 years until her retirement in 1990. Post retirement, she served as interim librarian at the College of Saint Elizabeth. She was a graduate of the Academy and College of Saint Elizabeth and the Graduate School of Library Science at Rutgers. She was the beloved sister of Elizabeth Ann Clarken of Summit, Angela Schmidt of Morris Township, N.J., and the late Joseph A. Clarken. She is survived by seven nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews on whom she showered her love and affection. In lieu of flowers, donations to College of St. Elizabeth, Office of Institutional Advancement, 2 Convent Rd., Morristown, N.J. 07960 would be appreciated.
