My heart goes out to you. Life is only an instant, only the dissolving of ourselves in the selves of all others, as if bestowing a gift. Ellen is so beautiful and lovely and wonderful. It was such a joy to be in her presence.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have loving memories of all the times that I drove Ellen and the Kitchen girls to various places around town here in Louisville when we were all teenagers, after I got my license to drive. Even though she was my aunt, I felt a special bond with her because she was so close to my own age. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. At Aunt Jinny's sugggestion, I am making a donation on her behalf to a charitable organization that does worthwhile cancer research.

Ellen used to visit us when she was growing up. People would often think she was my daughter. I would correct them, and tell them she was my sister. Then they would be embarassed, I'd tell them, it's OK I do have children her age. Ellen always got a kick out of that.
