Obituary of Robert R. MacDonnell

MacDonnell --- Suddenly On Monday, August 12, 2013 Robert R. MacDonnell died at home in South Orange. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange on Sat, Aug 17th at 10:30 AM. Interment Private. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Thursday, 7- 9 PM and Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mr. MacDonnell , a New York native, was a partner in the Manhatten law firm of Lurie, Ilchert, MacDonnell & Ryan, L.L.P. where he was a trial lawyer concentrating in construction accidents in general liability cases for the seriously injured. He was interviewed for and quoted in the 2011 Book " How Leading Lawyers Think" by Randall Kiser. He had the top two settlements for bicycle accidents in New York State for the year 2012 as reported by the New York Jury Verdict Reporter. He was a 1968 graduate of St. John's University Law School where he was also an editor on the law review. He received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University in the Bronx after graduating from Bishop Loughlin High School, Brooklyn, NY. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine Imperiale MacDonnell, devoted father of Robert R. MacDonnell Jr., Jeanine LoRusso and Scott MacDonnell .
