Susan Ann (Brower) Meyer passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013. Relatives and friends may call at Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mill Rd., Beltsville, Md. 20705, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a funeral service at 7:30 p.m., and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 12 noon at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, N.J. 07040. Interment is at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N.J. Susan was born in New York City and graduated from Mira Costa High School in California before attending Barnard College in Manhattan. She then moved on to earn her Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado with a degree in journalism and a bachelor of arts in history. She began her journalism career in Paterson, N.J., and Perth Amboy, N.J., as a staff writer, but very quickly became a consumer correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and McGraw-Hill World News in Washington, D.C. In 1975, she became president, publisher, and founder of Capitol Reports, Inc. in Washington, D.C., which included the Washington Credit Letter, the Federal Financial Regulator Digest, the Washington Credit Letter Privacy Report, the Washington EFT Letter, and Federal Reserve Week. She was a past member of the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department. She was the loving wife of Fred Brower; daughter of the late Frederick and Isabelle Meyer.
