Obituary of Aristidis Vayas

Aristidis Vayas, 73, of Maplewood, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 721 Rahway Ave., Union, N.J., on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Hollywood Cemetery, Union. Born in Grevena, Greece, Mr. Vayas lived in Maplewood for 35 years. He spent 40 years as a self-employed contractor with Spring Painting, Maplewood, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Union. Aristidis was the beloved husband of Evangelia Tsamtsdis Vayas; devoted father of Angelo and his wife, Mary, Jimmy and his wife, Teri, and Peter Vayas and his wife, Valerie; dear brother of Agoro, John, Despina, Lemonia, and Gus Vayas, and loving grandfather of Aris, Joseph, Christopher, and Antonio.
