Charles F. Huebner, 95, of Maplewood, N.J., formerly of Chatham Twp., N.J., passed away on Oct. 19, 2012.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Winchester Gardens (The Great Hall), 333 Elmwood Ave., Maplewood, on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. Interment is at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood.
Born in Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. Huebner lived in Chatham before moving to Maplewood 17 years ago. He received a B.S. and Ph.D. in bio-chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. There, he was a chemist on the team that developed Coumadin. Charles was a distinguished research chemist for over 40 years at Novartis, formerly Ciba-Geigy, in Summit, N.J., from 1941 to 1986. During his career there, Charles developed a drug for tuberculosis that was also used against Leprosy.
He was the beloved husband of the late Madelene Codina Huebner. He was the dear brother of Maryanna Allabough; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
