Joseph T. Ghegan, 74, of Maplewood, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, N.J.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Morrow Memorial Church, 600 Ridgewood Rd., Maplewood, on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is private. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Born in Newark, N.J., Mr. Ghegan lived in Maplewood for 42 years. He received a B.S. in chemistry and a Master's in chemistry education, both from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Ghegan served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He was a high school chemistry teacher at Columbia High School in Maplewood from 1964 to 2000. He then taught chemistry at Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston from 2000 to 2010 when he retired.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara Lawrie Ghegan; devoted father of Mary Beth and Michael Ghegan; loving grandfather of Jessica Ghegan, and dear brother of Helen Proud and Liz Loftus.
