What can I say that hasn't already been said by all my colleagues? Mike was a true professional and has left an enduring legacy a the bank. The extent of which, is only now in his passing, become so clearly visible - I think I always suspected. Mike was one of those unique individuals that could make even the most trying times almost fun. He could always illicit a laugh with his own infectious sense of humor or disarm you with "that smile". It has been my pleasure to know and work with Mike for almost two decades. It was he, not Micheal Jordan that made me say, "I wanna be like Mike". Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Mike's family in person, I know Mike always spoke fondly of his family, his wife, his kids.
Anecdotes from the 4+ years I knew him / collaborated with him: His witty character, his frank laughter, his love for sports-like watches, the time when the Aug 2012 earthquake shook his chair while working from home and he thought it was his children kidding around, his waiting for the summer to hit so he could go on is bike rides, etc.
