Irene Werner Kosinski, 73, of Maplewood, N.J., died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in the Inglemoor Nursing Home, Livingston, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood, on Wednesday, Jan 9, at 5 p.m. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of service. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com Born in Luzerne, Pa., Mrs. Kosinski lived in Maplewood for many years. She was an eighth grade science teacher with the Hillside Board of Education from 1962 to 1998 when she retired. She received the Teacher of the Year Award in Hillside. She earned a B.A. and a master's in education at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. Mrs. Kosinski was president of Alpha Delta Kappa (Delta chapter) and Grace Church Women. She was a member of the Board of Trustees at Durand - Hedden House, Maplewood. She also did demonstrations of open hearth cooking. She was a member of the Brigade of the American Revolution, and the Murals Committee, Maplewood Town Hall, and was treasurer of the Maplewood Servicemen and Women. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester R. Kosinski, and devoted daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Silchack) Werner. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Seeing Eye, 10 Washington Valley Rd., P.O. Box 375, Morristown, N.J. 07963 would be appreciated.
