Obituary of Silvio J. Gallini

Silvio J. Gallini, 86, of Union, N.J., died suddenly on Friday, May 25, 2012, at University Hospital, Newark, N.J. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., when a brief service will be held. He was co-owner and operator, with his brother, Richard, of the Gallini Brothers Excavating in Union from 1961 to 1991 when he retired. Mr. Gallini worked in the family business of Gallini Farms from 1940 to 1961. The Gallini Farms was started by his father and his two brothers in 1910. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving stateside during the Korean War. Beloved husband of Barbara Hoelzer Gallini, he was the devoted father of Valerie Giglio and her husband, Anthony, Karen Gallini, Andrea Giarnieri and her husband, Nicholas, and Kristina Gallini, and dear brother of Leonilda, Eva, Beatrice, and Richard Gallini.
