Francis H. "Frank" Popola of Lakewood, N.J., formerly of South Orange, N.J., died at home on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m. The family will be receiving friends at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net.
Mr. Popola was a stonemason for 25 years with the Brick and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Local No. 1 in Long Island City, N.Y. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Union, N.J.
Frank was the beloved son of the late Antonio Puopolo and June Darling Popola. Frank leaves behind sons, Antonio J., Thomas F., Francis J., and their mother, Eileen. He was the loving brother of Jo Ann Mistretta, Thomas Popola, Jude Puopolo, Melinda Smith, Andreas Puopolo, Marianne Hanna, and the late Sean Puopolo; dear stepson of Mary Ann Puopolo.
