The Bonetti Family: May your heart and soul find peace and comfort as Joe rests in the arms of the Lord. A Soldier and Friend: A friend is someone whose company you wish to enjoy as long as you live. It is someone you turn to when you go through hard times and who will sincerely share in your joy and good fortune. You can lean on your friend when your heart is breaking, and when you are on your feet feet again, he will forget about your weakness. He prays for you when life has dealt you a blow, and rejoices when things go well. Your friend marvels at your good qualities and loves you in spite of your faults. He is proud when you achieve your goals, but is not ashamed of you when you fail. He will speak the truth, even though it might hurt, and you can tell him the truth without offending him. A friend does not need to prove his friendship, but he will. Rest well my comrade in Arms. BG (Ret) Jack Jones

I consider Joe one of the best friends that I ever met in the military. He was honest, funny and likeable. Always the good word. I enjoyed being with him and chatting it up. He was never at a loss as to what to say. We lifted more than a few and always had a good time. His knowledge of oldies was remarkable. I fondly remember singing with Joe as I played the piano at the Dover AFB O-club. He knew every word. Joe you left us too early, but I will always treasure the times we had together. Most recently in September when we bar-hopped in Manhattan. I will miss you very much. You where a good father, husband, patriot, and friend: R.I.P.

I knew Joe from the Guard and 25 years later I still smile at the mention of his name. He loved to work because he made it fun. All with him enjoyed the experience too. He made everything enjoyable. His loss will be felt by all. My condolences to his family.

My heart grieves with you for your husband's passing. In my family too we experienced a loss that seemed all-to-soon. Praying for you to feel God's presence nearer than ever while you and your family go through this difficult time together. You are not alone, God's shoulders are bigger than we can possibly imagine. Many of us are thinking and praying for you and your family as well.

To the Bonetti Family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and be assured of my prayers for Joe and you.
It was my privilege to know Joe for forty years. I served with him in the Guard and the Army Reserve; he was a true friend and colleague. He naturally exuded the best qualities of leadership combined with his eloquence and style. In aggregate this made him the superb instructor that he was but, more importantly, he was always sincere and his character was sterling. I believe that character is a discernible mark of how closely we come to the image and likeness of our Creator. It is the very essence of a person, encompassing a myriad of virtues , refined throughout our lifetime primarily by our experiences and faith. I believe that Joe is at peace and rest with the Lord. May his Memory be Eternal!

We always appreciated Joe's ability to be an interesting conversationalist. His wide and extensive knowledge of history and current events made for excellent discussions. But, most importantly, his love for his parents, Italian heritage, and Country defines him as the person he was and allowed him to pass these qualities to his family.
His passing was certainly untimely since he had much more to contribute in his life-time. We wish him all of God's blessings as we celebrate Joe's life.
Our deepest sympathies to Liz, Laura, and Chris and the Bonetti family.
Love,
Cousins Pauline and Tom

Dear Liz, Laura, & Chris,
We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We tried to get to Maplewood both Thurs. & Friday, but the weather was against us. You are in our thoughts & prayers. Joe was one of the good guys; a real person. In hindsight, we let life's problems get in the way & lost touch. Liz - you & Joe were good friends to us when we lived in Maplewood. Never found another place like it with the friends we made there. The world is a little sadder place with Joe no longer in it. He will live on in your hearts. We will always have fond memories of our time with you guys in Maplewood. With deepest sympathy - Donna & John Fugazzie
