Obituary of Basil M. Hart

Basil M. Hart, 87, of Flint, Mich., formerly of South Orange, N.J., passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at St. Barnabas Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, May 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. as well as the Memorial Service on Saturday, May 26 at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew & Holy Communion, 160 South Orange Ave, South Orange. For more information or to send condolences, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net Basil was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in South Orange from 1986 to 2004 before moving to Birmingham, Ala., and Flint. He attended Washington State University and City College of NY. Basil was a civil engineer, managing large contruction projects, mainly in New York City. He was predeceased by his daughter, Charlotte Macy Hart, and nine sisters. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Beauchamp Hart, children, Basil M.Hart, Marvin B. Hart, and Susan Hart Ellis, his son-in law, Dale Ellis, his sister, Alice Smith and his grandchildren, Jordan and Sydney Ellis, Tami Eaton, Basil Hart, Julia Foster, 10 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
