Memories of Angelo will always bring a smile to my face. When I first visited Maplewood in order to determine whether I would start my business here, my first meal was at the Village Trattoria. Angelo was so warm, friendly and encouraging when I introduced myself. I knew after that delicious meal and kind exchange that Maplewood would be a wonderful place to live and work. I always admired Angelo for his work ethic, positive attitude and community spirit. This is a devastating loss for Maplewood and of course for his family. Angelo's spirit will always remain in Maplewood Village and beyond. My deepest condolences to all who cared about and loved him. He will be missed terribly by so many!

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
Angelo was one of those exceptional, unreasonable men who shaped the world to fit his vision. Along the way, he shaped my future and the future of countless others.
I worked at the Trattoria for nearly a decade and was a firsthand witness to Angelo’s relentless work ethic, his exceptional kindness and his infectious smile. So much of my progress and development as a person is a direct result of my time working at Trattoria.
Angelo’s legacy is not his restaurant. His legacy is all the lives he changed along the way. I cherish the time I spent working for Angelo and I will carry those life-changing memories with me always.

As I read the other remarks, I couldn't help think that the things I wanted to say had been said. As I thought about Angelo it came to mind all of the times I came in looking for a donation for one thing or another and I was greeted with a big "hell-o Sue what do you need". At my surprise, that he figured out what the folder was for, he flashed that warm smile. Boy have I missed that smile around town. In that, I know I am not alone. I am so sorry for your loss and for ours, all of us.

We were SO saddened to hear of Angelo's passing. He was a genuinely wonderful human being. Our son Justin worked at the Trattoria in Maplewood when he was younger and he adored Angelo. My husband knew him from Maplewood Country Club and admired him as well.
Several years ago, we lost our brother-in-law to brain cancer. It is a devasting diagnosis and we need to find the cure. Our sincerest condolences to you and your family.

To the Vayas Family we offer our sincerest sympathy and prayers.
Both of our sons Richard and Aaron Wyche and our daughter-in-law,Rhonda Wyche, worked at the Trattoria in Maplewood. The experiences and the work ethic that Angelo demonstrated and demanded of them contributed to their growth and development in becoming hard working, diligent and responsible adults. It was a great learning and earning opportunity that they will never forget and neither will we.
Know that Angelo will never be forgotten....
Be Blessed Always

Our deepest sympathies to the Vayas family on the passing of dear Angelo. Our son Mark worked there for many years and we always appreciated Angelo giving him that opportunity. Mark always shared words of wisdom from Angelo and now Mark, too, works in the restaurant business. Angelo was kind and generous and had a smile that lit the world. We will miss him.

Only just found out yesterday about the passing of Angelo as we moved out of Maplewood over eleven years ago. From the beginning at the Roman Gourmet to the opening of his own restaurant, every time I saw him he would have a huge smile. He was a great man and well loved in the community.
