All my love and prayers to you, dear Maguires. I was so sad to hear about Chris's passing. I have the sweetest memories of him in high school--my first and only Millburn boyfriend--and delighted in staying in touch as die-hard New Yorkers. My prayers are with you all. I hadn't seen Chris in a while but it always seemed ok knowing he was around strumming his guitar. Life is tricky that way. You think you have all the time in the world. Chris was a special person and he will be missed. RIP

From the first time that Brian Bacchus brought Chris to our house, I knew that I'd met someone who would forever charm and challenge. My memories of late nights, drunken dancing and impromptu guitar solos, only skim the surface. Rest in Peace dear friend. Thanks for always lighting up a room and riling a few of the unsuspecting.

My heart and prayers are with you, Maguire family. Chris's friendship had such a positive impact on my life, and I attribute that to the goodness of his family. I feel as if I know each of you so well because he would speak so fondly of you when we shared anecdotes about our families. Chris will forever be in my heart and I will honor him in my actions every day. Thank you for using the photo I took of him one evening. This was the last time I saw him, and his smile lit up Lincoln Center. It was the best photo of all I took at Fashion Week. Getty Images thought he was the best dressed of all the fashion goers, and posted this image to the site! Chris and I enjoyed a hearty chuckle over this. I've never known another soul quite like Chris. It is truly a devastating loss.

Maguire Family: I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss. I went to college with Chris but did not get to know him until his NYC days. Chris was the ultimate enthusiast, always engaged -- by a song, or a friend or a new thought. The memory I have always carried is of him in his second floor apartment in the Village, standing before a wall of CD's and picking out a special edition of Pet Sounds, his latest joy. He insisted I sit down and listen to this (the original master, I think) and how happy he was to see me appreciate it. He was a gentle soul and I will miss him.

I had the honor of knowing Chris since freshmen year at Colgate. We didn't hang out a lot, but would chat from time-to-time for all four years. We usually talked music. He was someone you could rely on for a kind word and an interesting chat. Our 25th reunion was coming up when I tried to contact him. So sad to find out that he was sick.
Condolences to his family and friends who were lucky to have known him recently. Glad to see that he was doing what he loved doing.
Sincerely,
Marybeth

I knew Chris during the early 1990s,through his musician friends Dave Rave and Michael Mazzarella. He was kind, magnanimous, and had a smile for everyone.
Reading about his faith and devotion, and particularly his helping the sick at Lourdes, I wish very much that I had stayed in touch with him. Today I have much more in common with him than I did in 1991, and it is no doubt thanks in part to his prayers. When I met him, I was a nonpracticing Jew, agnostic, and profoundly unhappy. Today I am Catholic, have made St. Maximilian Kolbe's consecration to Our Lady, and have found meaning and purpose in life. I believe that Chris must have commended me to Our Lady all those years ago, and she has watched over me.
Praying for Chris's repose and for all those who mourn him, with much thanksgiving for the gift that he was to the world.

Chris Maguire was one of the kindest & most generous guys I knew back in the crazy city in the 1990s. . . always inviting people over for a steak and to talk about/listen to music, always supportive by coming to our Dave Rave Conspiracy shows. A real sweet guy, so sorry to hear him gone so soon; he will be missed. Heartfelt condolences to his family & nearest and dearest friends.

I met Chris in 1991 at Elektra Records. He was a great guy to know. He loved music and people. He was a good friend and shared himself with his friends. We had some great times together. The Maguire family is in my prayers this evening. God Bless you all!
Remember the best times, focus on those times and play them in your mind till it makes you smile. Then feel him, breath with him, smell him and remember him in your heart. He will never go away, he will be with you forever and you will smile every time you miss him. He wouldn't want it any other way.

Dear Jim,Pat,Mellisa,James and family,
Words can never express how very sorry we are for the devastating loss of your son and your brother Chris and for all the pain you have endured these past few months. Praying for God to give you all strength for this most difficult time.
From all that I have learned about Chris as a grown man, I know he will be missed by his many friends. In his short lifetime, he made a difference.Chris has touched and helped many people and that was a true gift from God.
I'm hoping that in time you can find a small measure of comfort in the pleasant memories of Chris that will always be yours. A smile comes to my face when ever I think of our trip to Mittersill.
Please hold in your hearts, as I try to do,the truth that we will be together.
With love and our deepest sympathy

Dear Chris,
We miss you so much, and it is so hard to face the reality that your loss has left such a huge hole in our world. Thank you for taking us in to your heart and for sharing friends, music, food, some special sunny (and not so sunny days in the park) - the simple joys of your life- with us. I know that when we are able to return to your beloved East Village, your spriit, your smile, and your music will be with us again - and sorrow will not be an intruder.
Godspeed, dear friend; may you rest in peace.

I grew up w/ James & by extension, Chris from High School into adulthood. Myself, my brother Andrew, & the 2 Maguire boys spent many a summer day together in Short Hills & later both Andrew & I spent a lot of great times w/ Chris in NYC. He was a man of varied interests, kindness, & intelligence & will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his entire family at this difficult time.
