Linda Beers Bryant was born May 5th, 1951 in East Orange, New Jersey to Walter and Margaret Beers. Margaret was 46, and Walter was 51 with four grown children at the time of her birth, and they would joke that they had their own grandchild. She graduated from Millburn High School in 1969 and spent summers with the family in much loved Spring Lake, NJ. She attended Rosemont College, where through her classmate, Patricia Bryant Bowers, she met her future husband of 13 years, Jim Bryant. Linda and Jim resided in Berwyn, PA where they raised their two daughters Liz and Christina. Linda eventually relocated back to her hometown of Short Hills, where on July 3rd, 2012, she passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Linda was a fun-loving and passionate person who loved the arts and travel. She was often in Philadelphia exploring the latest museum exhibit, performance, or concert. A lover of rock music, she always made sure to see Bruce Springsteen when he came to town. She even went to the Woodstock '94 with her older daughter. Linda was also well known for her compassion and kindness, especially towards those in poverty and stray animals. Over the years, she volunteered at local homeless shelters and participated in fundraisers for various organizations.
Linda is survived by her two daughters Liz Bryant of Jacksonville, FL and Christina Bryant of Long Island City, NY. Her oldest brother Walter Beers pre-deceased her, she is survived by her brother Robert Beers of Clinton, NJ, and sisters Barbara Oberle of Brick, NJ and Elaine Becker of Short Hills, NJ.
