Anthony N. Marcantonio passed away at home on Fri, Feb 21, 2014 surrounded by his family. He lived a full life and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills on Tues, Feb 25th at 11:15 AM. Interment St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood on Monday 4:00- 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Overlook Medical Center, 36 Upper Overlook Road, Summit, NJ 07901 (Blood Donors Services In Honor of Anthony Marcantonio) would be appreciated. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com "Tony" was born and raised in Millburn, NJ on September 7, 1924 to Rose and Saverio Marcantonio. He graduated Millburn High School in 1942 and from there served four years in the US army. He then worked at Ciba Geigy for 46 years. Tony was an avid golfer. He was an excellent dancer and bowled in a mixed league with his wife, Jane. Tony was very proud of his homemade wine, which he made every October and shared with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching westerns, playing cards and would never miss a Yankee game. He was one of the oldest members of Casa Colombo in Millburn, a member of the Maplewood Memorial Post 10120 VFW, the Guy R Bosworth American Legion Post 140 and Knights of Columbus at St. Rose of Lima, where he also served as an usher. He is the beloved husband of Jane Noonan Marcantonio for 36 years, and the late Jenny Iossa Marcantonio. He is the loving father of Sam Marcantonio and his wife Eileen, Joe Marcantonio and his wife Barbara, the late Tony Jr., and stepchildren Ellen Jewett, Bob Lorenzo, Jane Borselli, and Patti Nordquist. He is a cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many and will be remembered with a smile on his face and a glass of wine in his hand.
