Obituary of Rev. Ronald W. Johnson

Pastor Emeritus Ronald W. Johnson died on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013. A service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary at Wyoming Presbyterian Church, 432 Wyoming Ave., Millburn, N.J., where Ron served as pastor for 33 years before retiring in December 2007. The family will be receiving friends at the church on Friday, Dec. 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the sanctuary. Arrangements are by the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood, N.J. Over the course of his ministry, Pastor Johnson held various roles in the Presbytery of Newark, including president of the board of trustees, and most recently chairman of the committee on ministry. On the morning of Friday, Dec. 6, the bell in the Wyoming Presbyterian Church tower rang 33 times in honor of Ron's years of service to his church family. Ron is survived by his wife, Jennifer; sons, Mark and Thomas; their wives, Nicole and Christina, and grandchildren, Ian, Mirabelle, Grace, Samuel, Claudette, and Spencer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ronald W. Johnson to the Elizabeth Avenue/Weequahic Presbyterian Church, 761 Elizabeth Ave., Newark, N.J. 07112, for the benefit of the feeding program, where Ron served every Thursday during his retirement.
