It has been more than a year since my cousin Paul died, and there is still a heaviness in my heart. In 1966 Paul arrived back in England and came to our house with Cleo and Martin. He skipped and jumped on the lawn at Swan Street, Stourbridge, with his odd accent (Aussie!) whopping at the snow that was falling. He had come back from Australia to the UK and had never seen snow. Every Christmas the whole family assembled and the cousins - Shelley. Kevin, my brother David and myself, would have a blast with the old 'uns, opening our presents, playing games, and watching the Queen's Speech. Paul was always a live spark, even then. As we grew older, we went our separate ways. Paul moved to the States. I moved to Devon, then Hereford, and Paul would visit with Dee and the kids.. Many years later, it was Skype that brought us together again. One of the last messages he sent me was Paul expressing concern about our ageing parents and what was going to have to them with our parents living back in the UK. Little did sweet Paul know that his mom and dad would outlive him.

I knew Paul well through our university years, despite me being at Art College and him at University - he was the cool trendsetter, who introduced me to so many new experiences, interesting people, music & clubs! A true original.
My heartfelt condolences to all his family - I am struggling to believe he is gone at this young age. I cannot imagine what those of you who truly know and love him are going through, but I know you will have so many amazing memories to hold onto, draw strength from and cherish.

I was both shocked and sadden to hear of Pauls passing. Paul and I were friends from school. We often spent time together and I have many fond memories of shared experiences as we grew up and found our way in life. He was both fun and bright. I will miss his visits to the UK were we always met up to discuss both old times and new experiences.
My sympathies go out to all his family and friends.

Paul was my friend since 2011 when we met on a dark lakeshore late one night during a Revolutionary war reenactment. We got into all sorts of mischief and our exploits became truly legendary. I wrote a song about that evening -to the tune of Blaydon Races - and he and I exchanged mock broadsides about the unfortunate affair of the King's Sausages, the upshot of which was a great friendship which had us visiting eachother's camps and signing together after being on opposing sides during the day. Paul was also extremely kind to my daughter, giving her a longterm loan of her first reenacting clothes. He was a sensitive person and I am deeply saddened by his death. My heartfelt best wishes go to his family. We will sing the song in which he figures so prominently at the upcoming Battle of Short Hills the weekend of Paul's service.

Paulie
I only met you a few times but it enjoyable to chat with you in person at events, rather than just on Facebook or PM.
May your memory be a blessing

Though I knew him for only a short time, he made a lasting impression. The world was a cooler place with him in it. Now I guess Heaven will be even cooler with him up there, no small feat. May God bless you with eternal happiness, Paul, and bring peace and comfort to your family. You are loved and missed. And if I get up there to join you someday, remember you still owe me a game of Streetfighter.

Our sincere condolences to Dee, Zoe and Alana, it was always a joy to get together with Paul, although too infrequent over the years. The last time in Toronto with Martin.
He will sadly missed and our prayers are with you.
