George R. Butler, 61, of Maplewood died on April 24, 2007, in University Hospital, Newark. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in St. Josephs Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Wednesday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held in the Jacob. A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Please omit flowers. For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Born in Irvington, Mr. Butler was a lifelong resident of Maplewood. He was the superintendent of Maple Valley Associates in Maplewood since 1972 and was also a self-employed painting contractor since 1966. Mr. Butler was a member of St. Josephs Church, Maplewood, and an avid sports fan who played in the Maplewood Recreation Department Mens Softball League for the past 20 years. Mr. Butler was the beloved son of Blanche and the late Glen Butler; dear father of Richard Butler; loving brother of Beverly Mulvey and James Butler; longtime sweetheart of Annette Ragonesse, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews
