Mary F. Bodnar, died Tuesday, April 16, 2014 at home in Maplewood. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1PM on Saturday, April 26th in the Chapel of Immaculate Conception at Seton Hall University, 400 South Orange Ave., South Orange. Mary F. Bodnar born July 9, 1947 in Orange, NJ and grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. Mrs. Bodnar graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 1969. While attending Seton Hall she met Joseph Bodnar and they married in 1970, they lived in Maplewood for 37 years. Mrs. Bodnar was a substitute teacher in the South Orange/Maplewood School district for 30 years. Mrs. Bodnar is predeceased by her father, Frank Degnan and her sister, Monica. Mrs. Bodnar is survived by her mother, Monica Degnan; her husband, Joseph Bodnar; three daughters, Kathleen Konsulis and her husband Chris, Ann Bodnar and Sarah Bodnar; her siblings, Teresa (Jesse) Moreno, Ellen (Tony) Corino, Frank Degnan, Robert (Mary) Degnan and Elizabeth (Vincent) Petroccia; three nieces; a grandniece and grandnephew. Mrs. Bodnar enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with family. She had a way of making everyone she came in contact with feel special.
