Here is a poem I wrote about my grandmother:
My grandmother lay there in time, just like a goddess that is venerated,
Resting on the kleos that I remembered her presence
The xenia of always taking in people, not expecting to be paid back,
Aphrodite blessed her well with beauty inside and out,
She lay for awaiting the gates of Heaven
She has been lifted up to heaven to meet her husband,
Lifted out of suffering and now enjoying herself
Peace now is with her as she looks upon us.
As I sat there, weeping and crying streams upon streams out of thine eyes
Just seeing her being in peace and not suffering anymore,
It put me in a bit more ease, but I could not resist producing man-made waterfalls
Carrying out her to rest I will never forget thine honor
For as long as I live about thy time I hath given her.
Thy service, how she was honored as a goddess of beauty,
Not seeing her face ever again as thy casket closed weeped me more
One last look at thy casket, in tears
Celebrating her life at her castle, being a glutton with food and drinks,
Living at thy celebration, enjoying thyself as she would at parties,
Crowded at thy castle as I remember parties at her place, just how she liked it
I still see thy spirit, she always is with me in my heart,
In my mind, in my life and memories forever.
She is awaiting me for my entrance after I live a full life like she did
To be reunited with my hero, thy closest person to me,
As we live in eternal life in the beautiful landscape of heaven in the clouds.
