Vincent C. Klebaur, 93, of Manahawkin, N.J., formerly of Maplewood, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in St. Joseph's Senior Home, Woodbridge, N.J.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Brig. General William Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Born in Maplewood, Mr. Klebaur lived there for 60 years, moving to Manahawkin 29 years ago, He served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1939 to 1946 and also served in the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1952. Mr. Klebaur began his career with the Maplewood Police Department in 1946, was promoted to its chief in 1976, and retired in 1980 after 34 years.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Sturtevant Klebaur; devoted father of Vincent J. Klebaur and his wife, Maureen; Paul F. Klebaur and his wife, Janet; Susan Armstrong and her husband, Robert; Christine Ghuzzi and her husband, Jerry; Peter Klebaur and his wife, Heidi, and Jane Donegan and her husband, Frank. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
