Rose Nardone, 97, of Maplewood, N.J., died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J., on Friday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com Born in Newark, Mrs. Nardone was a lifelong Maplewood resident. She was a registered nurse for American Cyanamid, Bound Brook, N.J., from 1945 to 1949. She was a member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, South Orange, N.J., and the American Red Cross Nursing Services. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. James Hospital School of Nursing in Newark, N.J., in 1938. She served in the Army during World War II as a second lieutenant. Beloved wife of Vincent A. Nardone; she was the devoted mother of Leo E. Nardone and his wife, Patricia, Eugenia S. Felt, and Vincent J. Nardone; loving grandmother of Paul H. Felt, Kristen, Leo P., Joseph V., and Hunter Nardone; dear sister of the late Eugene Sheridan and Elizabeth Reidy. In lieu of flowers, donations to South Orange Elks Special Children's Committee, 220 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J. 07079 would be appreciated.
