Obituary of Doris W. Stark

Doris W. Stark, 93, of Maplewood, N.J., died on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Wednesday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J. Born in Baltimore, Md., Doris lived in Maplewood for more than 65 years. She retired as office manager of Scrimo Trucking and Rigging in Roselle, N.J. Mrs. Stark was an animal lover. In high school, she received the Peabody Award for academic excellence. She was an honor student at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She was a member of the Maplewood Senior Club, the Maplewood Garden Club, and was an active member of the Maplewood Service League. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Jacob P. Stark; devoted mother of J. Peter Stark Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, and David C. Stark and his girlfriend, Deborah Testa; loving grandmother of Peter N. and Caroline E. Stark; dear sister of Judy Poole. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maplewood First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 572, Maplewood, N.J. 07040 would be appreciated.
