Well, what can I say about the pride we all had in Aunt Juanita? I always revered her as a nurse. I looked at her strength and faith and knew that she was someone to emulate. When I think of her, Grandma Maria Cardona's kitchen smells come to mind, as well as, the trips on the Circle Line with it's cream cheese and jelly sandwiches. Now mother and daughter are together. There will be some more great cooking up in Heaven and with God's help she will be by the side of all who went before. I always admired the love of God, and family, exhibited by Uncle Julie and Aunt Juanita. They shine down upon us.

My Dear Aunt Juanita,
To me you were the quintessential matriarch, with a voice that was warm, steady, and as wonderfully reassuring as your hugs. Your name will always be associated with a love that I understood, since childhood, only came from the angels. And now you can finally be among them. Please give my love to Uncle Julie.

Dear Aunt Juanita – Grace, Peace, and Love to you and to your family and friends.
I remember all of those weekends and holidays that we spent at the house on Kenilworth Place. I can’t explain it but we always seemed to end up there, filling every room with people! There was always tons of food, tons of rice, but even more love!
Aunt Juanita was always such a loving, kind, caring, and joy-filled person. When I was younger I never understood her calm and gentle spirit. But as I grew in faith, love, maturity I understood and appreciated her in more ways than I can explain. She knew perfect love, with God, and with Uncle Julie. I don’t know exactly what happens next, but I hope and pray that she is reunited with God, with Julie, and with Norma too.
Many years and many miles have separated us, but nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Blessings to you Aunt Juanita on your graduation day…and prayers of peace and comfort for all those who miss you.

To family and friends of Juanita Hernandez: I met Julius in Dec.of 1960, and Juanita, several months later. Julius and Juanita were wonderful friends who possessed, not only expansive hearts, but also impeccable character. This legacy can be described in their daughters, Maria (Cookie), and Julia, by an expression of the mother of another friend of mine who used to say, "You don't get chickens from ducks." Although Julie and Juanita will be missed, the wonderful people who they were are continually expressed in their daughters, Cookie and Julia, and no doubt, in their grandsons, Gabriel and Benjamin. With condolences of Love and friendship, Earl Blecher

You walked through this life gracefully and now, you are beside Uncle Julie who no doubt, is smiling and already calling " Jaunee ". Now you are gone and i am left with a big smile because you always loved me. Thank you for being my Aunt.
